silhouettes of recompense
vagrant hearts fading into suspicious shadows
moved only by those penumbral melodies
that chance upon a memory

Falling tides leave so much on the beach
in the morning the gulls leave the rest
when the sun has reached its zenith
and the shadows are no more
we're just another consequence
of our iridescence
