The pull of human tides
painted parades in double stroke
the hopeful ride the wave
the masses in the backwash
The siren song of success beckons
its undertow is patient
a fragile connection between
life and death
Pretense evades truth
the eyes of envy never blink
to always want more
leads to a life of less
