Propinquity

I was exposed
pulled through the keyhole
and served up to her imagination
dusted with a shaking fervor
that sprung my boyhood politeness

her smile was beyond my capacity
the way it stood to reason
bending my senses into perplexity
it would have be easier to unravel a mare's tail

it was senseless to disregard the obvious
the change in the color of love
like late afternoon clouds
turned ferocious by the sun

TRANSUBSTANTIATION

In my history
The bread and the wine
Are symbol and mystery
Made real by powers
Beyond bakers and vineyards
Only that

In history of Eucharist
The bread and the wine
Are body and blood in truth
Still mystery
Transformed
From Untouchable to Touched

Some lovers are symbol
Some lovers transformed
Both are mystery
Searching different horizons

Dancer

Dear Love are you dizzy
from the way I dance around you
at once a smile and a frown
you love me
but not my behavior
and wonder if I'll ever realize
the depth of you affection

You tend me beyond the reason of need
while you live in a world that makes more sense
you know there is no one who loves you more than I
but of all your suitors
I'm the one who turns love into a question

And what a question it is
how is it that our spirits are one
yet we travel in separate directions
how is it that our needs are the same
yet we can't connect

And so I dance around you
begging the reassurance of a kiss
hoping that if I get that kiss
you give it freely
so that I might comprehend
the depth of your affection
